Legal Question in Employment Law in California

My previous boss told me I had to tell his boss, the company owner that I had filed for personal bankruptcy.

In the same year I received no bonus and the relationship soured. I left in Dec. of 2009.

I felt very uncomfortable have to disclose the information but did so since I was told I better before he finds out from someone else.
