Can my employer require me to provide a digital photo of myself for a database?

I think it would depend on the reason for the photo. There may be legitimate reasons for the photo, for example for identification purposes which is necessary in some lines of work. The right to privacy is not absolute. However, if there is no business-related reason for the photo, it may be unreasonable to request it.
