Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I quit my job without notice suddenly about 2 weeks ago. I signed no paperwork and just walked out. My boss wanted me to come back and I agreed to verbally a few days after leaving. I could not come back immediately because it was not clear if he would be allowed to rehire me (corporate HR issue with his boss). In the meantime I have secured a new job and today informed my old boss I did would not be coming back. I have a significant amount of unused vacation time. How long does my company have to pay me? How long until I have access to my 401k to rollover to my new job?

The employer must pay all wages and accrued vacation within 72 hours of your giving notice of your resignation. The time-frame to allow you to rollover your 401K depends on the terms of the plan itself. Contact the plan administrator and ask them and also ask for the summary plan description.
