Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I have been recently appointed to a federal law enforcement postion with the federal governement. I am scheduled to leave to the academy in the next 30 days. The Human Resources Department recently sent me a contract stating that I would have to pay back $37,000 in training expenses if I left prior to two and that I have to be locked into the duty location for two years. Can they withdraw the offer if I don't sign? Is this legally binding in California since it is an at will employment state?
