Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I recently won a lawsuit in regard to employment law and am awaiting the check. My question... is the check made payable to the law firm that represented me or is it made payable directly to me?

Sometimes, it is made payable to the client trust account of the law firm. Sometimes it is written jointly, to the firm and to the client. Rarely, is the check written to the client, only. Check your written retainer agreement and, if you are not sure, ask your attorney.

If it's a judgment, realistically it should be payable to you. �If a settlement, then to both. Assuming that the employer will pay, it will be sent to your attorney, who likely has a lien on the proceeds.
