Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Religious obligations and termination

My at -will employment was terminated with a Pre-IPO. This occurred after I had explained to the VP that I could not come to work on Sunday due to religious obligations. When I was terminated (on the Saturday prior to the Sunday that was expected of me to work)--I expressed to the CEO that I believed it was wrong to be terminated due to religious reasons and his response was that that was simply too bad. What, if any legal action can I take against my former employers?

Re: Religious obligations and termination

I don't know what a pre-IPO is. Putting that aside you may have a claim for religious discrimination, but only a full scale evaluation could tell. If you worked in LA county, call our office at 818-990-1340. If you worked elsewhere contact an employment atty in your area or the CA Dept. of Fair Employment and Housing.
