Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Repremands
As a resident manager of an apartment complex, I was ''shopped'' by the girlfriend of the management company's owner. She is not a business partner, nor even an employee of the company. I have been hearing through the grapevine that my employers are looking to get rid of me because they have some personal friends whom they want to put in my place. After I was ''shopped'', I was given an employee repremand for showing a unit to a ''prospect'' that was not ''rent ready''. (This was not true. The unit was definately in ''rent ready condition''.) I was also written up for not being available on a certain day, a day which I had called in ill. Can I be written up for this?

Re: Repremands
Fairness is not an issue with most employment. You can be written up for almost anything. However, what the employer may tell future prospective employers may get them in trouble if they state false facts about you.
