Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Requirements for staying out of work for illness

If I call in ill for my shift on a friday, saturday or sunday, my employer requires me to go to our family health services clinic and be seen by a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner then issues a work excuse. Is this legal to require me to go to the clinic?

Yes, it is. However, in addition to that you always have the right to go to any doctor you want to go to add your own expense.
