Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I resigned from my job 12/9/10 and told my employer I would be available through the end of the year. I took a vacation day 12/24/10, and the company shut down from 12/25/10-1/03/11. So my last day was 12/23/10. I'm now being told that I don't qualify for a bonus since I wasn't employed 'in good standing' through 12/31/10. I've also not found where this bonus policy is stated. Is this right?

You may have a valid claim here for the additional days of pay. Contact the California Department of Labor. They will take your complaint and look into it at no charge to you. Very likely there is not enough money at stake here to justify retaining an attorney and initiating a civil action. The DoL process should be a satisfactory and sufficient mechanism for resolving this claim.
