Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Retaliation after Age discrimination complaint

Less than 6 months ago, I applied for a transfer that would have resulted in a promotion. Two younger people were selected and I didn't even have an opportunity to interview. I meet all of the qualifications for the position. I expressed my disappointment to my managers and file an internal grievance with Human Resources. The grievance was denied and my manager gave me a written warning and placed me on corrective action. I've been with this employer for 20 years and have never been disciplined before.

Thank you,

Marianne

Re: Retaliation after Age discrimination complaint

If you get fired as a result of this and cant get another job, let me know. Otherwise, I think your damages may be small.

Best,
