Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Retroactive pay for change in job status.

I am an Rn in California. On July 10th I notified my employer that I wanted to change to a per-diem status. I was told that the change would be approved and I would see a pay check reflecting this change in 2 weeks. It has now been over a month. I have gone back and forth through the humam resources department and the Director of Nursing. I am being told there is a missing piece of paper from the Nursing Director. Multiple phone calls have not been returned. What is my next course of action? Thank you.

Re: Retroactive pay for change in job status.

I'd suggest a firm but polite and professional memo to the Dir. of Nursing, VP Human Resources, and anyone else in authority asking when the change will go through and when you will get your retroactive pay. From there you'll have to see what happens. Remember, memo things - do not rely on conversations, and always keep it professional.
