Rules governing overtime pay.

How is exempt status determined as it pertains to the payment of overtime for hours above 40 hours per week?

Re: Rules governing overtime pay.

Exempt employees do not receive overtime for hours above 40 per week. To be considered exempt, among other things, the employee must be paid on a salary basis. An exempt employee may work well above 40 hours weekly and is not entitled to overtime.
