Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Salaried employee docked for sick day

I am a weekly-paid salaried employee with no benefits of any kind at my job. I work 45-55 hours each week. Upon calling out sick one day, my boss docked $100.00 pay from my check. Of course, I have no opportunity to reclaim this by working more hours. Is this legal and what are my options?
