Legal Question in Employment Law in California

salary & sexual discrimination

I work for a small company of 40 and am one of the few senior female consultants. The environment is full of male egos and I have had to prohibit them from using some ''words''. In any case, I know my salary is much less than my colleagues who have the same job responsibility. When I have a review, my boss often picks at insignificant items, such as being late. I am rarely late, yet one of my colleagues is often late receives no mention in his review. Is there any recourse to the discrimination in salary?

Re: salary & sexual discrimination

Hello. I am a San Francisco employment attorney.

It sounds like you might have a legitimate claim under Equal Pay Act and FEHA (both prohibit discriminating/harassing employees based on gender). I would need to know more details about the nature and the circumstances of your employment.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
