Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I am in San Diego County. My current occupation is caregiver for Visitng Angels. I am required to attend 'classes to receiv e a certicate after 5 classes. The letter states this is a mandatory attendance. Te question for this one hour of each class. Is the employer required by California state Labor law to pay a 2 hour minimum for employees to attend a 1 hour classes that isi mandatory?
