Legal Question in Employment Law in California

While on sdi, my doctor is extending my medical leave due to complications.

If the company fires or lays me off, am I still able to collect sdi

until the Dr. deems me ready and able to work?

What are my rights when I am unable to work for anyone??

Thank you,
