Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Separation of employment / pay offer

I have been let go from my company and given a separation pay offer which offers 3 weeks severance if I sign the document. The document is 5 pages and I don't understand a few things. If I sign this agreement will it prevent me from receiving unemployment and should I go back and bargain with them for more severance?

You should never sign something that you dont understand. You may wish to have a lawyer review the agreement before you sign it.

Feel Free to contact me if you would like to pursue this matter.

Good Luck!
