Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Severence Pay

I have been employed by a bank for 17yrs. I'm currently under dr's order to stay out for 1 mo. due to a stress condition which lead to psychiatric help due to a harsh and unfair environment created by a new sr mgmt. I feel I can no longer perform my duties as my credibility has been unjustifiably damage. Is there a legal way in which I can resign and not lose my right to severence pay?

Re: Severence Pay

Unless the Company has a specific policy regarding severance pay, youre not entitled to any severance pay whatsoever. If the Company does have such a policy, then whatever rights you have will be spelled out by the policy.
