Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Shortages, can your employer make you pay them.
Working for a company that deals with cash, were most of the positions you run a bank to give change to customers. Of course in hopes to balance at the end of your shift. My question is when you come up short can the employer make you pay the shortage back?
I just find it odd, because of other companys that deal with currency they don't have to pay back shortages. Thank you for any response on this matter.

California employers may not deduct shortages from you pay without your written consent. However, they may seek legal action against you to repay shortages.
