Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I have signed employment contract which say if I leave the company before 1 year, I will have to pay them for 'Liquidity Damages'. I want to leave the company because of dissatisfaction. I have completed 3 months. Can they sue me for not paying liquidity damages ? I am in state of California. My employer is in New Jersey.
