It depends on the language of your contract. Give me a call at (213) 381-6557 or send me an email ([email protected]) if you wish to discuss the matter further.

It doesn't depend on the contract at all. Mr. Leichter is just trolling for clients. There's a little known law, . . . well, OK it's actually pretty well known, called the 13th Amendment which banned slavery and involuntary servitude. It is completely illegal to have a contract that doesn't let you quit, and it is completely unconstitutional for any court to enforce such a contract. Period. The only thing that depends on your contract is what limits might be in place on your next employment but even non-compete clauses must be very limited or they are thrown out, and what if any damages your employer can claim you are liable for if you don't complete the contract. That is the only thing that someone needs to look at the contract to evaluate for you. The question of whether you can quit or not is simple - you absolutely can and there is nothing your employer can do about it.
