Legal Question in Employment Law in California

slander

I worked for the county of orange for 17 years and was temanated for a dirty drug test. Since then ten years later I have been clean and have gotten on with my life. A supervisor from the county of orange 10 years later told my preasent employer of my drug use back then in a bad way. Is this legal to do or is it a slander case. My present employer has this persons buisness card and will testify to this fact. I have been emplyed with this present employer for 6 years.

Re: slander

It would not be slander, because it's true. You might contend it invaded your privacy, or it was an attempt to interfere with your contractual relations with your employer. However, if your employer still holds you in the same esteem, then there's nothing lost and might not be worth getting involved in a lawsuit.
