Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Sponsored to work in the US Now demoted and paycut

I work for a very large English shipping company where I have worked for 11 years. Four years ago they requested me to move to Los Angeles and be the Shipping Manager. i gave up a good quality of life to come and live here in the US. My employer sponsored me, and got me the necessary visa to work and live here. Last week I was informed by my new boss that I was being demoted from my position, and that my pay is being cut almost by 50 percent. I have an apartment where I have a lease, and I fear that the next step is that I will be terminated. I have had excellent reviews during my four year tenure here in Los angeles. I wrote on my latest review that I do NOT agree with their review. My question is what are my rights? Are they responsible for my Immigration visa, I do not want to return back to England. Do I have any rights at all in connection with the above? Also I have 11 years under my belt with this company, if I have a legal claim, can they fire me in retaliation? i need the advice of a lawyer to know where I should proceed further with the above.

Any help you can give me is appreciated.

Few issues here...employment law as well as immigration law. Are they sponsoring you for labor certification or H1 B visa? Please take a look at my site at www.lawyers.com/amyghosh
