On Sunday, my employer offered severance pay for leaving the company. On Monday I agreed. She said her lawyer would be getting in touch with me regarding the payment. 1] how long should i wait? 2]is the contact point my employer or the lawyer? 3]am i still employed?

Until you are told that you are terminated, it appears that you still are employed. You have not yet signed any agreement for any kind of compensation. The deal is not final until both parties have executed the agreement. A few days is a reasonable time. Depending on the size of the employer, it might take a while to find a lawyer to draft the severance agreement.

You might want to have an attorney review it. In signing an agreement, you are waiving all rights to bring an action against the employer, including for age and other discrimination, and unpaid overtime, meal breaks, and benefits, etc.
