Legal Question in Employment Law in California

suspended from work for 2 weeks because im gay.

i spoke with my boss on 10/31 to let him know that my girlfriend and i were sick and were not going to come in on 11/1 he said not to worry take some medicine and call it a day. 11/2 we come in to work and he only pulls me aside and says you are suspended for 2 weeks because there are rumors going around the office and you did not come in.I strongly belive that he suspended me because of my apperance and my sexuality because he gave me permision to take the day off. my girlfriend how ever was not suspended. she called him on 11/3 @ 7:30am and asked him why only one of us was suspended he said she can come in or stay home its up to her. is there any way you can help me?
