Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Taping Voice Mails of Boss

I was fired from job as a manager for Home Depot for giving away damaged cabinets without permission. I had verbal permission, the real reason I was fired was because I did something really stupid. I went to my regional manager and confronted him about an affair he is having with another managers wife. Before and after my termination, I accessed his voice mailbox and taped messages she had left to him.

My question is, can I use these in court and/or give them to the husband of the wife who my boss is having an affair with. Also, can I give these to my former employer to inform them of this, or will I face criminal charges for doing so? I know it is illegal in California to record a conversation without all parties involved knowing about it, but wasn't sure if the same law covered voice mail.

Sorry my question is so long. wasn't sure what to leave out.

Here is the best advice we can give you. Throw away the tapes and try to find a new job that does not require that you use your judgment in any way because you dont have any to spare.
