Telephone Recording

Is it legal for a telephone customer service department to require employees to sign a contract stating that they will be audio recorded on the telephone when answering calls? Furthermore, is it legal for the employer to tell the employee that they will be fired if they do not sign it?

Yes and yes. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy answering the telephone for the employer. This can be made a conditon of employment.
