Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Telephone Recording
Is it legal for a telephone customer service department to require employees to sign a contract stating that they will be audio recorded on the telephone when answering calls? Furthermore, is it legal for the employer to tell the employee that they will be fired if they do not sign it?

Re: Telephone Recording
Yes and yes. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy answering the telephone for the employer. This can be made a conditon of employment.
