Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Temp agency said I could no longer work for them. I did nothing wrong.

My first assignment with this temp firm was for a 4-day period. The company I worked for (MG) liked me and asked if I can continue working on an ongoing basis and do other tasks. I told them that I was looking for a p/t permanent job. They said that if an offer came up for me, they can just hire another temp if and when that time comes.

On my 6th day with them I did get contract offer from a company I used to work with. I told MG first since it was their choice if they wanted another temp at the time. (I was almost finished with the filing project. which took half the time they expected) MG saw it as no big deal. Anyway, when I notified the temp agency of my availability, they were irate and told me that since I broke my commitment to work for MG, I would no longer work for the temp agency. Truth is, I did a great job and didn't break any commitment. MG was pleased.

That's the summary...Is this worth pursuing at all?
