Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Terminated due to past history

I had, about 3-1/2 years ago, made a few bad decisions regarding an ex-boyfriend and my driver's license; I dumped the boyfriend and got my license back in order about August of 1999. However, as per the DMV, it still shows up as a 'suspension' in Jan. 1999. I only found this out yesterday, March 21, 2000.

My license has been valid and I have insurance. I was hired as a driver for a medical transport company in Sept. 1999 and have provided excellent service for 6 months.

I have just been laid off due to the fact that, as per company policy, you cannot have a suspension on your driving record for 3 yrs prior to your hire date.

I don't remember ANYTHING about this '3 year' policy when filling out the application. Is there something I can do, either to have the DMV take this off my record or to dispute this policy?

Re: Terminated due to past history

you cant really fight the policy but if the DMV will change the record they might reconsider.
