Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Terminated with No Explanation

I worked for a restaurant and was recently promoted to management. While going through the training program I was terminated half way through and given no real explanation why. The program is 12 weeks long, they shortened mine to 9 weeks. I didn't receive training in various areas of the business, nor was I shown how to complete any paperwork. The only thing they told me was that I was not up to standard. Who's standard? I don't know, none was ever set, nor was I told I had to be at any certain level. Is this wrong? Can I do anything about this?? Please help

Re: Terminated with No Explanation

Unless you believe you were terminated because of sex, race, national origin, etc., you are out of luck. California is an at-will state. You can quit or be fired for any reason or no reason, as long as it's not an illegal reason like discrimination or whistleblowing. There are some exceptions which probably don't apply here.
