Legal Question in Employment Law in California

If someone is terminated after selling a large project what am I obligated to pay them? Do I have today them for revenue collected on the project?

There should be some form of a commission agreement which determines what an employee has to do to earn their commissions. If the employee has done all that is necessary to earn their commissions, it is payable, regardless of whether they are still employed unless the contract states otherwise. There is an old saying applicable to these situations:

"He who shakes the tree, gets to keep the fruit."
