Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was terminated on Tuesday. I graciously said i would wait until the payday of Friday to be paid final check. May check wasn t there on the Friday. Only one check for the one day I worked in the next pay period. Is the employer legally binding to pay for the time I had to wait for my final pay?

Yes. The employer owed you your entire final pay, through your last day of work, on the day you were terminated, including any accrued and unused vacation. When an employer does not have the entire amount owed ready and payable at the time of termination, the employer owes a day pay for ever day the former employee must wait for their final payment in full, up to a maximum of 30 days pay.
