Termination due to merger

Can someone please tell me how long I have to file suit against my previous employer (a public utility company) for unlawful displacement due to a merger? I worked there full time

for nine years as an ''OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR''. After the merger I was passed over. Some-

one else was HIRED to do my job and I was told I would be on an ''ON CALL'' basis. They never called.
