Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Termination
I was recently let go from my job, I was accused of something I did not do and stood up for my self and got fired two days latter. They did not give me any severance package options as well as not wanting to pay me my bonus they owe me from last year. What can I do? Do I have a case or not?

Re: Termination
I am assuming that you are an at-will employee, which means that you can be fired for any reason as long as it is not an illegal reason. I company is not required to provide a severance package. If you had a guaranteed bonus or you have earned your bonus then certainly you would be entitled to it. However, most bonus programs are discretionary and are not fixed until sometime before payment.
