Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Time Cards for Exempt Employees

Good Evening,

What are the laws regarding the use of timecards for exempt personnel in California. I have worked for this company for 8 years, and the Human Resources Director is now requiring that "timesheets" be filled out, signed by a supervisor and turned in every two weeks. After my brief search on CA Law, I am not really sure that my position is really even an exempt position. What are the guidelines?

Thanks

Re: Time Cards for Exempt Employees

There's no law prohibiting the use of time cards with exempt employees. There are laws requiring the keeping of accurate time records with hourly employees. With exempt employees, it is optional.
