Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I am being told I am going to be replaced in my position and have been offered two options. 1. Severance Package or 2. new position in Sales (that I am not sure that I want). I have not been told the amount of the package. Can I ask for that in advance so I can make my decision?

Ask them to present you with the offer. It is not binding until you sign it anyway. If you are over 40 years of age, they have to give you 21 days to think about it and you can even change your mind within 7 days of signing it.
