Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Unemployment
I began working for a company, before I started I was asked what hours would suit me and I made clear anything but graveyard. After a disagreement with a supervisor, he began switching the schedule around, knowing I need a set schedule in order to arrange my transportation. He was making things hard, but for 4 weeks I hung in there. I came in to work one morning and he sent me home, said I was not scheduled, yet there was no new schedule for 2 days I had no schedule and then On the 3rd day Im called at home and he tells me I have to work the graveyard shift no exceptions. I had no choice but to stop working. I feel things worked out the way he wanted. Do I possibly have a case?

Re: Unemployment
If there was a discriminatory purpose behind his singling you out, then yes, you may have a case. By that I mean, animosity based not on personality, but on class, like race, sex, sexual orientation, or age.
