i have a verbal agreement with my employer that he will pay me $10.00 per hour and he will take it out against my rent (600.00) and the rest he will pay me through payroll after giving me 300.00 he tells me that he doesn't want to pay me out of pocket, at the time i didn't have anywhere to go so i kept my time cards and for 8 months i have worked for him i do everything at this motel he wont hire anyone to help me, i do everything from maintenance to house keeping and checking in guests. now he is selling the motel. my question is can i get the money that is rightfuly owed to me for working for him when he sells this place?

You will need to get a judgment against this employer first. To do that, you will either have to file a lawsuit or a complaint with the Division of Labor Standard Enforcement for all wages and overtime you can prove is owed to you. Once a judgment is obtained, a lien can be placed on the property preventing its sale until you are paid. Until you win your case, don't expect this person to voluntarily pay you anything.
