Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I was verbally assaulted by a co worker with profanity, screaming, held and blocked against my will inside in office, reported to management, and was told I need to work it out and if I can't I would lose my promotion and be labeled as a difficult employee. the coworker continues to slander my name and defame my character in work emails to which the boss is aware of and allows it to happen. If i quit my job will UI accept this as a good reason for quitting?

You may want to report the co-worker to the police. If you quit, you may be able to prove there was a hostile work environment. You should contact an employment attorney for a consultation before taking any action.
You also may file a claim for worker's compensation benefits for psychiatric injuries that you are suffering. You may receive temporary and permanent disability benefits. Feel free to call me at 213-388-7070 for a free consultation.
