Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Possible wage over payment
I gave 2 weeks notice and resigned from my previous employer a little over 3 months ago. About 2 weeks after resigning I received my final paycheck and bonus check. All amounts looked correct and no amounts were out of the ordinary. My previous employer 3 months later states they made an error on my bonus check and would like me to repay the money. Is this something that I would be liable to repay?

Re: Possible wage over payment
Sure, if it is money that you didnt earn then you are not entitled to the money. However, if you feel that they are making a mistake and you have earned the money then, of course, you are entitled to the money. Since there appears to be a disagreement over what you are entitled you should contact your ex-employer and try to come to some mutual understanding concerning the pay that you have received.
Good Luck!
