Whistleblowing
Whistleblowing by an employee is reporting a violation of law and/or safety violation at workplace to the outside agency (including one of the public agencies, OSHA (occupational safety and health administration, etc...).
It is not uncommon for an employer to retaliated against an employee who "blew the whistle" by demoting, suspending or terminating that employee.
Such terminations, if linked causally to the whistleblowing, violate a number of laws protecting workers rights in California.
