If I work as a district property manager for a management company and my supervisor is starting his own management company, can he hire me without causing problems?

In California, you have a right to work wherever you choose as long as you do not use your current employer's trade secrets with your new employer. But before you jump ship, be sure this supervisor does not have any contractual restriction on his hiring current employees. You do not want to be caught in the middle of a legal battle between the supervisor and the current employer.
