Legal Question in Employment Law in California
If I work friday from 8pm-1:30am, then saturday 8am-1:30pm, does that break any labor laws?

Not as long as you are paid for the hours worked.

Only if you are in a safety-regulated job that has minimum rest requirements between shifts, such as air traffic controllers, etc.
