Legal Question in Employment Law in California

my work paycheck bounced

I work at a restaraunt, I show up one day and the door is locked. The last check I received bounced, leaving me pennyless and with bank charges. In addition they still owed my a check for hours I worked. I know that I should be paid but I don't know where to start. All I have is a tax ID number for the business.

First, you should file a wage claim against the ex-employer. The fact that your check bounced may make this a criminal matter as well.

Good Luck!
