Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Work place discrimination

I`ve worked at a grocery store for 20 years. I am an Assistant Manager.

2 years ago I was transfered to a different store.Ever since then I have worked an average of 2 closing shifts. In our management hand book it states I`m only obligated to work 1 closing shift. The guy above me is also mandated to work 1 closing shift and doesn`t.

For 2 years I have been asking for set days off. The rest of our mangement team gets set days off. I dont!!!

A newly promoted management person has been told that he will be getting set days off.

I would like to pursue this. Do I have grounds ?

Re: Work place discrimination

Have you asked any questions of management above you as to why you are singled out for disperate treatment? Do you have union representation of any kind. Is this an act of discrimination, ie., racial/ethnic/age/gender/orientation etc., etc. Contact me and we can discuss. 800-685-6950
