Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I work at a public school. the principal has 5 classified friends. They are her group. they all wear thumb rings. this has caused an awkard working envirnment and uncomfortable. For those of us that are not in her group. the ones in her group get favored. what do we do? Or could this be discrimination?

It is not unlawful to have friends at work. It is unlawful if this were some sort of religious cult and they were discriminating against employees who are not part of that cult, in an adverse manner. If you believe the friendship is treating you less favorably, in some way, you should talk to your union representative to see if some provision of the collective bargaining agreement has been violated.
