Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I work for Safeway Grocery store for 10 years now. I am disabled. I have a job coach. I have been trying to promote from courtesey clerk to checker position now since 2011. Everytime they were hiring for the position I signed up for it. I have been overlooked every single time. Although I have cash handling and customer service experience before being hired at Safeway, they bypassed me every time for others with alot less seniority than I. I recently brought this to the attention of corporate and had a formal interview with corporate regarding this and now ALL of the managers are acting overly friendly towards me when they were very rude and condescending to me at first. Do I have grounds to sue?

Hello,

The answer to your question depends on a number of factors, including the nature of your disability and the reasons for Safeway not promoting you, among other things. You should discuss your situation with an experience employment attorney in your area to determine whether suing is a good option in your case.

Thanks,
