Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I work for a small business in California and receive a basic wage & bonus. My boss almost always delays paying my bonus because of cash flow issues, sometimes for many months. It's obviously not right, and causes me financial issues, but where do I stand on this from a legal point of view.
