Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I have worked as a store manager for a big company for 3 years. In the past year I got a new district manger who sends alot of text messages. I get about 5 a day when i am not on the clock. This have happened about everyday for the past year. Is this legal? And if not what can i do?

It is not illegal for your supervisor to send text messages. But if you are an hourly wage employee, you shouild be paid for the time you spend reading and responding to the messages. If you need further advice (at no cost to you), please call me at 805-886-4515.
